Da da da da da!!!!
Today's my first Blogaversary! *gets up a dances for a little bit*
I can't believe it's really been a year since I started this blog. I actually started only because I wanted to post some videos me and my friends made (and that's why the original URL was called crazyvideosbyme or something like that).
Let's have a flashback shall we?
"This blog was originally meant for videos I made, so that's why the name is what it is. This blog is also about my life, friends, family, and anything really! SO here we go!"
January 4, 2009
And my second post I just have to include.
"As I was typing my last post, our tv exploded. As the site reads, "Rarely Boring."
So now we only have one tv in the house, which may cause conflict. We'll prob get another this week so no worries!"
So now we only have one tv in the house, which may cause conflict. We'll prob get another this week so no worries!"
Reading over all my posts, I realized I talked about the weather very frequently. The whole blogging thing was new for me so I didn't know what to talk about.
I also wanted to share all the posts I've written about my Heavenly Father. He's my life and I couldn't make it without Him!
"Hi! I just wanted to talk about how great God is! He's so loving, and forgiving, even though I don't deserve it. His love surrounds us even when we are down. He gives us hope and a future! Yesterday, my youth pastor talked about how we need to witness, not only by telling, but by acting like Christ. We should show others by the way we live our lives everyday who Jesus is and what he can do for you!"

"He is risen! He's alive! Jesus conquered death and sin! We can now have a new life in Him!"

"I'm back form the beach! The trip was so amazing! I learned a lot about what God says a leader should be. Here are the points.
- If I don't pray for the youth ministry, it will never change
- If you want to be a leader you have to be a servant
- To be a leader, people aren't always going to like what you decide
- As a leader you may be called to stand alone
- We can have confidence in leading when we depend on God
- If the whole student ministry look like you, what would it look like?
- The Bible has to be the foundation in your decision making
Those really make me think, "Am I doing all I can for God?" Because I call myself a leader but I am not doing half of what I should be. I'm so glad I went. So inspiring and fun!"

"This is an incrediblely amazing and eye-opening song. It makes you stop and ask, "What do I REALLY know about God? How much time to I spend getting to know someone who I call my best friend?" Go down to my new playlist at the bottom of my page and click play. 'The song is What Do I Know Of Holy by Addison Road.'"

"God is amazing! He's completely and utterly mind blowing! I can't believe His love for me, a sinner. His mercy and grace are life changing gifts that I don't deserve, but He showers them on me everyday. This video proves that God is real. Please watch the whole thing! I know it's kinda long but it's worth it!"

Here's the link for the video.
"Eight years ago, today started as just another day. People hit the snooze alarm, ate breakfast, and got stuck in traffic. When they arrived at work they might have grumbled about another co-worker talking to loudly on the phone or gotten upset when too many people tried to fit into the elevator. Then someone informed them of the tragic and horrifying. Everything stopped. People gathered by the television and watched as terrorists flew two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Tears were shed as they saw the smoke and fire burning. Many had to turn away when the towers collapsed . When they left work that day, they weren't concerned about missing their favorite tv show or about why they didn't get the promotion. That day 2,993 people died. Today, we remember the those who died. We pray that the Lord would comfort those who lost mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, and friends. "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" Psalm 91:2

"It's been awhile since I posted about my life. Everything's been pretty okay. School is normal, dance is normal, my family is doing well and so are my friends. The only thing is I'm not where I ought to be with the Lord. I've been noticing it more and more each day. I'm trying to get back on track by spending more time in the Word and treating God like the friend He should be. I read about how this girl moved and didn't feel like she fit in so she made God her best friend. Over time she did end up making new friends but she grew really close with the Lord and that's what I want to do.
Oh and I'm going to start posting Blessing of the Day. Today's blessing:
Listening to the smyphony of five children's spoons clanking against their cereal bowls, with the occasional slurp to add artistic flair."

"Hey! I'm kinda tired from dance. I'm going to be sore tomorrow I bet. Today I was at my Oma's house before dance and all of a sudden, it grew really dark. We thought a storm was blowing in so I got ready to leave. Suddenly rain started to pour down and the wind was bending the trees. I looked out the window and noticed a tree had been uprooted. I asked my Oma if that had been there before and she said no. Then we heard firetrucks and decided to leave because the rain had lessened. As we were driving I realized that that could have been us. I'm so thankful that God protected me and my Oma. He surely is a good God!"

"Blessing of the Day:
Living in a country where we are free to worship the Lord God Almighty. In history, I'm reading about 17th century America and religious freedom is what drove our nation to be founded."

"Tuesday night while I was eating my dinner (Chick-fil-a!) in the car, I looked up at the sky as I normally do. This time was different. For the first time, I noticed the clouds. I know you're thinking, "Duh, Landis! Clouds do tend to be in the sky." But that's not what I mean. I mean I was conscious of how beautiful and intricate clouds really are.
The contrast between the blue of the sky and the stark white of the clouds is striking,
The contrast between the blue of the sky and the stark white of the clouds is striking,
the shapes and designs they create are ingenious,
and their soft fluffiness reminds me that my God is a wonderful God.
He delights himself in inspiring awe in me and putting his signature on everything He created. Never rush through life to busy to noticed the beauty in the small things... like clouds."

"This is my absolute favorite! I don't know why. Maybe because of the detail of the stem.
I continue to realize the beauty of creation. The Lord's handiwork is everywhere and in everything! 'The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.'"

"I can't believe it's the first of December!!!! This year has FLOWN by!!! I'm so ready for Christmas though! Our tree is up, the house is decorated beautifully, and I have all my Christmas music on my iPod.
I've been reading a book called, Redefining Beautiful. It's by Jenna Lucado and it got me thinking "What is my perception of beauty and of myself?" In the book, Jenna emphases that we girls need to see ourselves as God sees us, His beautiful princesses. He created us in His perfect image and has a plan for our lives. But first we need to submit our life to the Lord and give all our worries, insecurities, and problems to Him.
The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. Psalm 45:11
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
1 Peter 3:3-4
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
I just thought I'd share that with y'all. : )"

9/9/09
"Well, I think I've finally made up my mind! Sorry I've been changing on you so much recently! I switched back to my previous background. I'm not sure about the header but it will do for now.
Today we went apple picking! It was a lot of fun! Except I enjoy picking apples when the air is fall-like and today was kinda hot and muggy. Oh and guess what? Today's 9/9/09! And at 9:09 PM Eastern it will be 9:09 on 9/9/09! I find that cool.
Again, thanks for bearing with me and my indecisiveness."

My 200th Post
"Oh my goodness! I can't believe I already have 200 posts! Thanks to all my followers for sticking with me! You're so great!
In honor of this special event, I've decided to write 20 random things (I don't think I could come up with 200!) about myself and to show you some of my photography!
1. I am a child of God and so very glad that I am! Without the Lord in my life, I don't know where I'd be today.
2. I LOVE Christmas! First of all because it's Jesus' birthday. I love the music, the decorations, the smells, and the feel of this time of year! I could honestly listen to Christmas music all year! My favorite songs are O Holy Night, Where are You Christmas, The Gift, and All I Want for Christmas is You. I also collect Holiday Barbie Dolls. They're so beautiful and mean a lot to me because my great-aunt, who passed away a couple of years ago, started the tradition when I was a baby.
3. Photography is something I think I want to pursue for a career. I enjoy capturing the beauty of a moment.
4. My teeth are still sore from getting my bottom braces on a week ago.
5. My family is incredible in so many ways!
6. I can always remember someone's birthday, even if I'm only barely acquainted with them.
7. My favorite colors are pink, deep purple, and royal blue.
8. Taylor Swift is my favorite musician.
9. I doodle my signature all the time.
10. My eyes are green when close up and blue when you're standing far away from me.
11. When I was about 4 I was backwards shy. One time we were looking at refrigerators in Home Depot and I ran and hid inside one. My mom asked me why I was hiding and I said it was because some people were looking at me.
12. I want to learn to play the guitar very badly!
13. One of my favorite movies is Finding Nemo.
14. My mom knew a girl named Landis in high school and always liked the name. When my parents were deciding on what to name me my dad said he liked the name Landis, not knowing my mom wanted to name me that. God wanted me to be Landis and now I am!
15. Chocolate is a food group according to me.
16. I have an obsession with purses, necklaces, and dresses
17. I'm reading Pride and Prejudice for the second time.
18. I'm an introvert.
19. I can be crazy. (Just ask Emily)
20. I'm so glad I can share my life and experiences with you!"

And My Fourteenth Birthday
"So far my 14th birthday has been great! I'm a tad tired though cause I couldn't fall asleep til 1 am last night. But I was happily greeted this morning! Miller, the little 22 month old, said "Da da birda Landa." And Grace had a small birthday party at her house today and her mother made AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD! It was sooooooooooooooooooooo good! I have yet to open my presents, but I'm already so thankful to my parents and all my wonderful friends for making this a super special birthday!
I also thought I'd write 14 random facts about myself so here it goes!
I also thought I'd write 14 random facts about myself so here it goes!
- I have never gotten the flu, broken a limb, or gotten the chick pox.
- I can't roll my tongue. (Which will make Spanish a little tricky)
- I LOVE mashed potatoes! And that's a good thing considering I'm getting my spacers tomorrow and my braces Sept 3.
- I'm strongly against judging/stereotyping. I'm also very into originality and being unique.
- I find people tripping or falling down highly comical. (But I always make sure they're okay before and if I laugh)
- I can't get enough of the beach! The sun warming my face and the surf crashing by my side sends me into an almost unbreakable happiness!
- As I was typing this, my mom was waking up the children. She was waking up Miller, and then he said "I love, I love," and then pointed to me!!! So sweet and adorable! But poor Naphers (Nathan) has a slight fever.
- I now have five followers! Thank you Emily, Littlewonder11, Rebekah, Hannah, and Possom Princess for following me! You're the best!
- I have been to 8 states. 9 if you include Washington DC.
- I've had a home party for almost every birthday. This year was New York City themed, 13 was 80's, 12 was Hollywood Star, and my 11th was a spa party.
- When I was 3 I called my Oma (grandmother in German) Elmo.
- I've only been babysat by someone other than family once.
- I have a freckle on the bottom of my foot.
- I am God's girl and nothing could separate me from His love!"
