What a Beautiful Mess

Sorry if my last post was a tad dreary. This past week, three teenagers in my community passed away. My youth pastor was talking about how, if you were to pass away today, would the people in your walk of life know that you followed Christ?
We have been discussing the Great Commission and how as believers, we're are called to be Christ's witnesses in Jerusalem (our family and close friends), in Judea and Samaria (people in our lives who we don't necessarily hang out with), and to the ends of the earth (people all over the earth). I was very overcome with the thought that, if I were to die tonight, would people remember me as someone who honored God with her life and shared His love? The tragedy of two seniors who will never graduate and a boy who didn't think life worth living also burdened my heart, and I would like the ask you to pray for the families of these teens.
But God is still good. Even though we can't see how a car accident and suicide can be used for good, God is faithful. He is all-knowing, all-powerful, an ever present help in trouble, our strength and refuge... God is God. And let me tell you, He's a lot bigger than our problems. He can turn the ugliest tragedy into a beautiful miracle.

Just like He turns the barren branches of a tree into a beautiful display of His majesty. Even when you feel like your world's upside down, God is there. Comforting you. Holding you. Bringing you closer to His heart.

P.S. Today is National Prayer Day, so pray hard for our country!
