Yep, that’s me. An unripe blueberry.

Well, not exactly, but in a metaphorical way.

God is not finished with me yet, and that’s a beautiful thing. God created me for a specific purpose. He made me exactly how He wanted me to be. But sometimes I struggle with myself and how I was made. I don’t think I’m pretty enough or I compare myself with others and find that I fall short. I try to act like somebody else other than the person God created me to be. During these times, my self-worth falters and my view of who God is molding me into becomes smudged and hazy. I feel like I don’t matter.

But I do.

God cared enough about me to come down to earth and die a cruel death, just so I could be with Him. He endured enormous pain so I could come to Him when I’m broken. He was mocked so I could be accepted. And He rose again so I could have hope. Hope that one day all the troubles of this world will fade away, and I will be able to praise my Savior face-to-face. But for right now, He calls me to live a life of love, forgiveness, purity, and holiness. He picks me up and carries me through the trials I have to face. He leads through the storm and dries me off.
Even though I may not know what it is yet, God has a plan designed especially for me. He is still molding me into the person He created me to be. Every bump in the road is bringing me closer.  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you, and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11

The sun is out, so let the ripening begin.
