Some of My Thoughts
Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts recently. With the last blasts of school looming, dance, church, and everything else... life's just been busy. So I apologize. : )
Today my family got together for my uncle's birthday. (Next year he'll be 39 for the second time ;) We all had fun sitting around eating ice cream. And I got to play his beautiful electric guitar! It's sooooo cool! I would really like to get me one soon. Whenever I'm playing an electric it just makes me feel like a rockstar! :)
I also want to talk about something God has brought to my attention recently. I was reading Proverbs and came across chapter 4. It says,
"My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man's whole body.
and health to a man's whole body.
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life."
for it is the wellspring of life."
The passage is talking about wisdom and how we should strive to attain it. The verse that sticks out to me the most is verse 23. It says we should guard our hearts. That could mean guarding ourselves from perverse tv shows, friends who drag us down in our relationship with Christ, certain magazines, etc. One area I feel especially drawn to guard my heart in is dating. A couple of people I know have entered into a relationship in the past few months, and honestly, it kind of surprises/bugs me. I personally have committed to remain pure until marriage, physically and emotionally. I just hate to see peers get involved in a relationship and end up getting hurt, bruising their hearts. They let their guard down, and it saddens me to see their pain. My Sunday School teacher said, "Are the guys you're dating bringing you closer in your relationship with God? Do they strive to encourage you in your walk?" I think that's one of the first things we should look for in our future spouse.
Thanks for staying with me! I just felt called to share about purity, a subject close to my heart. God has really been reiterating His truth about this issue in my life.
I hope you all have a great week!

Oh Landis.. I love this post and your heart! Your right... there are so many more important things in life other than having many boyfriends while you are young. How great would it be to enter into your marriage without any past hurts or baggage from broken relationships...... so pure and lovely!
You are a wonderful young lady and Iam so glad that you and Emily are friends... I hope that you all will be able to spend time together this summer.
I will remind you of this post if I ever hear you talking about boys :)
Thanks for your compliments! :)
