Eight years ago, today started as just another day. People hit the snooze alarm, ate breakfast, and got stuck in traffic. When they arrived at work they might have grumbled about another co-worker talking to loudly on the phone or gotten upset when too many people tried to fit into the elevator. Then someone informed them of the tragic and horrifying. Everything stopped. People gathered by the television and watched as terrorists flew two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Tears were shed as they saw the smoke and fire burning. Many had to turn away when the towers collapsed . When they left work that day, they weren't concerned about missing their favorite tv show or about why they didn't get the promotion. That day 2,993 people died. Today, we remember the those who died. We pray that the Lord would comfort those who lost mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, and friends. "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" Psalm 91:2
